Subtitle: Series of the Archive of the City of Salzburg 15
Author: Thomas Weidenholzer, Guido Müller
Publisher: City of Salzburg
The latest book, the "Archive and Statistical Office", describes the eventful history of all Salzburg bridges from Roman times to the present day. The butchers' shops, the bridge buildings under Wolf Dietrich, the numerous floods, the centuries-long dispute over maintenance are as much a topic as the spectacular collapse of the 1959 motorway bridge, quarrels about the location of bridges or the architecture of the new Makartsteg. More than 100 illustrations with partly unpublished photographs and little-known engravings, drawings and lithographs bring to life this aspect of Salzburg's city history.
